Does Your Site Have High-Quality Content?

The stats are in, and the answers are clear. If you want to be found on Google, then high-quality content is King, Queen annnnd the whole dang family!

TOP THREE reasons you should be focusing on producing high-quality content.

Not sure if you saw my last Instagram post. If not, you can go check it out now – I’ll wait.

I shared those specific statistics because I wanted you to know how freaking important it is to spend time considering the content you’re posting on your site.

YES! Your site! (sorry if it seems like I’m yelling….it’s just that this is really important)

Most of us (including me) are guilty of putting together our website and then leaving it and hoping it magically attracts traffic.  But, here’s the thing. Managing your content like that (or not at all, to be more accurate) will not get traffic.  That means you’ll have to rely solely on your social media platforms to push people to your site.

We both know what that’s like. You post a story about your newest service or product and hope to God that someone clicks that link in the bio. Look, I’m not saying to stop hustling on social media, but what if your ideal customer searched and found you on Google? What if YOU were the answer to their burning queries?

Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? I know what you’re thinking. How can you be so sure that this is how to get seen. Well, as I said in my Instagram post, the stats are in – thanks to Impact Plus

They succinctly put together some of the most compelling stats for why focusing on search engine optimized; high-quality content should be at the top of all our marketing “to-do” lists.

Here are 3 of the reasons I thought should be highlighted.

So, pull up a chair, Darling; I’m about to spill the tea.

1 – The Two Most Important Signals For Ranking On Google Are…..

(source: Search Engine Watch)

According to Impact Plus, the 2 most important signals that Google pays attention to for ranking your site are high-quality content and backlinks. That means you need to have well-written content that answers your ideal client’s questions and connects to other information on other websites. The almighty algorithm is smarter than ever, and if you aren’t serving up the goods, then Google won’t be serving you up. I know this is tough to hear, but sometimes we all need a little tough love.

2 – 91% Of All Pages Don’t Get Organic Traffic Because They Don’t Have Backlinks.

(source:Ahrefs)

This actually makes perfect sense. If copywriting and writing content isn’t your full-time gig and you’re busy building a business or an organization, then looking for sites to link to is probably not on the top of the list of things to do. Nevertheless, Google wants it and what Google wants Google gets. The algorithm wants this because it wants to ensure that what you have to say has credibility. The more sources you link to, the more street cred you gain out here on these internet streets, and that makes the algorithm a lot more comfortable in recommending you to their users.

3 – One Of The Top Ranking Factors For Your Site Is The Time Users Spend On Your Site

(Source: SEMrush)

Google’s paying attention to how long people are spending on your site. They want to be sure that if they recommend your site to a user that your content is relevant to what they were searching. They’re paying attention to see if you’ve got the goods to keep their attention. Hence, another reason why high-quality content that serves your ideal client is that much more important.

In Conclusion –

Stop running around like a chicken with your head cut off when it comes to your online marketing. You need great copy on your website. You need a blog, and it needs to be updated regularly. Those are the facts – I’m preaching to myself here, too.
